Dr. Yamada graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1966. His periodontal training was completed at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, followed by a teaching and research fellowship.
He returned to Chicago and established Periodontics LLC in 1969. He has held teaching positions at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University and has been on staff at Michael Reese and West Side Veterans’ Affairs Hospitals. His knowledge and expertise were recognized when he was chosen as a Delegate to the 1989 World Workshop in Periodontics and by his inclusion in the Handbook of Dental Specialists.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, North American Periodontal Study Club, and Odontographic Society of Chicago are among his many professional memberships.
Dr. Yamada is an avid fly fisherman and has traveled the world with his wife, Mildred, in search of excellent fly fishing water.
