Periodontics, LLC was founded in downtown Chicago in 1969 by Richard Yamada. Over the next eight years, he was joined by Doug Gorin, Richard Marinello, and Mark Rosen, all fellow native Chicagoans. The North Shore office was launched at its current location in 1979. With an eye to the future, Steve Russo and Nadine Brodala were chosen to continue the legacy of the group
The practice has always been at the forefront of emerging therapies. It was among the first in the country to offer implantology, beginning in 1983. Over the years, advances such as periodontal plastic surgery, bone regeneration, conscious sedation, virtual implant planning, and digital radiography have been added.
The doctors attend continuing education seminars worldwide to stay abreast of changes in the field. In 1995, they founded the PDL Study Club, part of the prestigious Seattle Study Club. PDL has a membership of over 50 Chicago dental offices and draws top speakers from around the world.
