Dr. Stephen Russo graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was inducted into the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU). He completed his periodontics, implant and sedation training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, serving as Chief Resident for two years. Throughout his residency he maintained a private practice in general dentistry. He distinguished himself nationally as the recipient of the Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award from the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Russo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He is the past President of the Chicago Academy of Dental Research. He holds membership in many dental organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, Seattle Study Club, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Chicago Dental Society, and the Chicago Academy of Dental Research. He has also lectured nationally & internationally on dental implants & esthetic dental procedures.
Dr. Russo is married to Dr. Ana Bedran-Russo, who is an Associate Professor and director of Applied Dental Materials & Interfaces at the University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School. Steve & Ana have three children, Matthew, Paloma, and Alex.
